Ramble
Right, to make up for the past two weeks’ laziness, I’m going to pack a head full of thoughts and ideas into a week’s worth of blog entries today.
It’s been a cold two days, but there is warmth inside. With “Butterfly Lovers” still reverberating and fresh in my mind, “圓滿”(Complete) heralds the excitement of yet another new offering. Ho Ah C has been working remarkably hard this year! Actually “圓滿” sort of reminds me of “如無意外”, but I shall let it all simmer for a bit more and reserve detailed comments for a subsequent post...
Was talking to a CD shop owner and seems like things are really looking grim nowadays. I dread the day when there are no more music albums to buy (and fervently hope that this day never comes). Hit by cheap China imports costing a mere $5.90 (or perhaps cheaper) and worse, illegal downloads (don’t these people realise that what they are doing is amounting to plain stealing? I think very lowly of them, but as if they care about what I think anyway...), it seems to be getting harder to find distributors in Singapore. Even those with branches here think twice and have resorted to minimum orders from retailers before they would oblige. Isn’t Gigi Leung still with Warner Music? But I was told that her past four Canto-releases weren’t being distributed here...
The other day I passed by the new National Library but am nonchalant to the sight of it. Apart from the Sammi movie forum, I haven’t felt like going in there at all. I think of the warm ‘little red brick’ library building that I used to frequent and am reminded that it is no more. Look ahead, yes, but I guess there are always a few things in life that you prefer the old...
One person has been appointed to do something and if you see him in difficulty or needing help, it is asking the obvious to offer your assistance. But no, instead of helping, these people just sit there and comment on what was done wrongly or opine what should have been done, but not lifting a finger to help. Bleah...
